Meet Lauren Mitchell
Through a trauma-informed and systemic lens, Lauren helps clients explore those patterns with curiosity and self-compassion rather than judgment.
She works with individuals, couples, families, and adolescents experiencing:
Trauma and relational wounds
Couples and relationship challenges
Family conflict and complex family dynamics
Life transitions, grief, and adjustment
Communication struggles and emotional disconnection
Stress, overwhelm, and difficulty coping
A desire to build greater emotional resilience
Whether you’re coming to therapy on your own or alongside someone you love, Lauren’s goal is to help you feel supported as you develop the insight and practical tools needed to create healthier, more connected relationships and lasting change.
Professional Expertise
Lauren brings more than a decade of experience working with individuals, couples, families, and adolescents across private practice, crisis stabilization, community mental health, family systems work, and trauma-informed care.
Her clinical experience has given her a deep understanding of how trauma, relationships, family dynamics, and stressful life experiences can influence the way we think, feel, communicate, and connect.
In addition to her work with Bright Light, Lauren serves as Program Director at Paradigm Austin, where she oversees residential programming and trauma-informed care for adolescents and their families.
Her combination of clinical care and leadership experience gives Lauren a unique perspective: she understands the complexity behind emotional and relational struggles while remaining focused on helping clients translate insight into practical changes they can use in everyday life.
For Lauren, meaningful therapy isn’t simply about understanding why you feel the way you do. It’s about helping you use that understanding to build healthier patterns, stronger relationships, greater emotional resilience, and a life that feels more connected and manageable.
Working with Lauren
Therapy with Lauren is warm, collaborative, authentic, and deeply human.
You won’t find a one-size-fits-all approach. Lauren meets you with curiosity, compassion, and respect for the experiences that have shaped you.
For individuals, this may mean understanding how past experiences continue to influence your emotions, relationships, or ability to cope with stress. Together, you can work toward greater emotional clarity, resilience, and confidence navigating difficult seasons.
For couples, therapy may involve identifying the patterns beneath recurring arguments, emotional distance, or communication breakdowns. Lauren helps partners better understand themselves and one another so they can communicate more effectively, repair connection, and create healthier relationship dynamics.
For families and adolescents, Lauren looks beyond identifying one person as “the problem.” Instead, she considers the family as a whole system and helps family members understand the patterns influencing their relationships, strengthen communication, navigate difficult emotions, and rebuild connection.
Lauren believes healing often begins when we feel truly seen and understood—but it grows when we develop new ways of responding to ourselves, our circumstances, and the people we love.
If you’re ready to understand what’s keeping you stuck and begin creating healthier patterns in your life or relationships, Lauren is ready to walk alongside you.
